The home of Gibson electric guitars today is "Gibson USA," built in 1974 in Nashville specifically for the production of Gibson's Les Paul guitars. Although the entire guitar industry went through a slump in the late '70s, the spirit of innovation remained strong at Gibson. In response to a growing demand for vintage stylings, Gibson tapped its rich history and reissued the dot-neck version of the ES-335 in 1981 and the flametop sunburst Les Paul in 1982. At the same time, two legendary guitarists joined Gibson- B.B. King in 1980 with the Lucille model and Chet Atkins in 1982 with his new concept of a solidbody acoustic guitar.
Gibson world headquarters moved to Nashville in 1984 with the closing of the Kalamazoo plant. The financially troubled company was rescued in January 1986 by Henry Juszkiewicz and David Berryman, and the new owners quickly restored Gibson's reputation for quality as well as its profitability.
Today's Gibson electric guitars represent the history as well as the future of the electric guitar. The models whose designs have become classics-the ES-175, ES-335, Flying V, Explorer, Firebird, SGs and Les Pauls-are a testament to Gibson's wide appeal, spanning more than four decades of music styles. Gibson's close relationship with musicians is manifest in endorsement models from King, Atkins and jazz greats Howard Roberts and Herb Ellis, plus new Les Pauls made to the personal specifications of rock stars Jimmy Page and Joe Perry. In 1994, Gibson's Centennial year, the new Nighthawk model won an industry award for design, setting the stage for a second hundred years of Gibson quality and innovation.
Pioneer entered the DJ industry in 1994, with the launch of the world’s first flat-top DJ player, the DJ-500. Since then, we have devoted ourselves to developing products that deliver world-firsts together with enjoyment beyond our customers’ expectations.
After 20 years in the business, we are entering an exciting new phase, re-launching as Pioneer DJ Corporation, with backing from the world-leading KKR investment fund.
Over the past two decades, DJs have shifted from using vinyl to CDs, and from CDs to music files such as MP3. Now the use of cloud storage and the growing popularity of EDM (Electronic Dance Music), sees industry arrive at its fourth wave. The birth of Pioneer DJ in such an era of change represents an unparalleled opportunity.
Our whole purpose is to understand and predict the future needs of DJs, clubs and the dance music community, and deliver products and services that enable, excite and provide total enjoyment. As an ‘entertainment creation company’, our wish is to provide many moments of great pleasure and exhilaration to all people who enjoy dance music.
We want to keep Pioneer DJ firmly at the center of the dance music culture: enabling DJs make audiences of thousands go wild, men and women to meet and enjoy memorable nights, and those precious moments spent mixing music at home.
We hope that you will all continue to provide us with your feedback and encouragement.
Drum Workshop was founded in 1972 as a teaching studio by Don Lombardi. It originally offered private lessons and the occasional workshop. However, Lombardi, along with student (and current Senior Executive Vice President) John Good, began a small drum equipment sales operation to cover the facility's operation costs.
This operation soon created the first-ever DW product: The height-adjustable trap seat, which was envisioned by Lombardi. The demand became so great that, after accepting an offer to purchase all of Camco's manufacturing equipment, the primary focus of the DW operation became drum hardware manufacturing. DW's Camco origins can still be seen on their drums today in their unique round "turret" tuning lugs which were designed by George H. Way and originally featured on George Way drums. Following this, the next big product introduced by DW was the 5000 series nylon strap bass drum pedal, which was essentially a Camco pedal with the DW name placed upon it. The pedal was soon joined by the double bass pedal, the rotating-base and cable remote hi-hat stands. After additional growth and expansion, the first full DW endorser was found in Tommy Lee of Mötley Crüe after he tried out a prototype DW drumset when he came to the shop to get his pedals adjusted.

The name Epiphone evokes both history and the spirit of invention. And now, in the 21st century, new Epiphone technical breakthroughs such as the ProBucker™ pickup, series parallel switching, built-in KillSwitch™ pots, the Shadow NanoFlex™ and NanoMag™ pickup systems, and premier acoustic/electric guitars with the eSonic™ preamp have brought Epiphone to a new generation.
